Obituary For Barbara Ann Ammons

Barbara Ann Ammons, 73, a resident of Henderson County for 39 years, went to be with the Lord on April 5th, 2022 after a long battle with illness. She was born on June 10, 1948 to the late William & Marvena Rhodes McCall in Haywood County. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa London; sister, Linda Brown; and a brother-in-law, Robert Corn.

Barbara attended Bethel High School and in 1974 met her Sweetheart, Hubert Lee Ammons and they were married on December 21, 1974. She retired from Wilsonart in 1989.

She dearly loved her family and genuinely loved and cared about others. To know her was to love her. Barbara enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, camping, traveling, cooking, and creating new recipes. Her green thumb could not be matched, and it showed in her growing of flowers, fruits and vegetables.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Mechelle Holt (Tim), Crystal Budde (Fredrick); grandchildren, Amber London, Brent London, Chelsea Ramsey, Courtney Holt, Nathaniel Budde and an acquired grandson, William Spannagel; great grandchildren, Madison Norris and Payton Norris; sisters, Jeanette Corn, Cathy Riddle (Thomas); brothers, Steve McCall (Tammy) and Dan McCall; son-in-law, James London; brother-in-law, Don Brown; any several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at East Flat Rock Community Park (in the large shed) on April 24, 2022 from 2-4pm.

My dear cousin more like a sister though, I will miss you so much. You shared your flowers with me and every time I look at them I think of you. So much fun to talk with you cared so much for others. A lot of knowledge has gone with you. I am happy that you're not in pain anymore and I will see you soon over there. Love Betty
