Obituary For Betty Ann Gibbs

Betty Ann Gibbs, age 78, a lifelong native of Henderson County, NC, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024. She was a daughter of the late Uncas Duncan and Ella Mae Bell Hardin. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, James H. Gibbs, Sr., and her daughter, Mimsi Michelle Betz.

Betty worked in sales at Lowes and as an accountant at Ford Motors, where her meticulous work ethic and attention to detail were truly commendable. Her passion for numbers shone through in all aspects of her profession.

Outside of work, Betty found joy in various interests, including her love for Hawaii, horses, line dancing, and big dogs. These hobbies brought her immense happiness and allowed her to create lasting memories with those she cherished.

Betty was proud to be saved and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Johns, and husband Michael of Penrose, her son, Todd Corn of NC, her grandchildren, Jesse Jordan, Kyler, and Ryan, as well as her great-grandchildren, Rylee, Jamie, and Jemma. Betty is also survived by her sister, Kitty Mae Kidd, and her brother, Jimmy Ray Hardin.

Betty will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering dedication to her family, and her gentle spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and memories she leaves behind.

    She worked at Garrett Ford many, many years ago. She worked at other jobs over the years including Lowes. I don't even know most of the names of other places she may have worked. I am sorry if I left something out.

    Her great grandson says "Everytime we went to visit Gamie she had red popsicles for me in the freezer. She also gave us candy and a soft drink. I love you Gamie." He is 10 years old.

    I cannot even begin to share all the memories of my mom in the obituary or this memory. There was so much more to what made mom who she was. I would sure love to hear your memories. She called me very single day at least once but usually way more than once. I still find myself thinking I need to call mom but then i realize i cannot. I love you and Oh how I miss you mama.
