Charlene Anderson, beloved wife, stepmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on November 28, 2023, at the age of 95. Born on September 19, 1928, in Melrose, Massachusetts to the late William and Ruth Garber Higgins. Charlene was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones.

Throughout her life, Charlene found joy in simple pleasures and cherished moments spent with family and friends. She had a passion for birdwatching, finding solace in the tranquility of nature and the beauty of avian creatures. Charlene also dedicated her time and talent to knitting baby and adult hats for charity, bringing warmth and comfort to the tiniest of lives. She and her husband Gordon shared many hours building puzzles together, enjoying the challenge and satisfaction that came with each completed piece.

Charlene's life’s journey included growing up on a mission in South Africa and living in Maryland and Orlando before finally settling in Hendersonville, North Carolina, where she spent her final years surrounded by the tranquility of nature and the warmth of community.

Charlene's faith held a significant place in her life, as she attended Fletcher SDA Church, finding solace and community within its walls. Her presence and kind-hearted nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Charlene is survived by her loving husband, Gordon Anderson. Additionally, she leaves behind a sister, Doreen Furman, niece, Sheri Butler and her husband Ed, stepson Lonnie Anderson and his wife Laura, of Florida, as well as stepdaughter Susan Bohnstedt and her husband Tim, also of Florida. Charlene's memory will be forever cherished by her surviving family members and friends.

Charlene left a lasting impact of her love and kindness that will be remembered by those whose lives she touched. Her legacy of compassion and unwavering devotion will continue to inspire and bring comfort to all who knew her.
