It is with great sadness that the family of Dolly “Jean” Drake Malchow announce her sudden passing on November 21, 2024 at the age of 93. She was born on November 21, 1931 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Jean will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Kathy Gilliam (Brad), Gina Goode, and Terri Garren (Mike); great-grandchildren, Tanner Garren (Jazmine) and Kaleigh Garren; great-great-grandchildren, Tristan and Raelyn Garren; brother Edward Drake of Richmond, Virginia; nephew Thomas Drake; numerous other family members in Florida; and her beloved loyal furbaby, Abby.

Jean was predeceased by her loving husband, Carl Malchow; her daughters, Anita Thompson Durham and Susan Thompson Gross; her parents, Theodore and Ruth Drake; and seven siblings.

At Jean's request, no service will be held.

The family would like to send a special thank you to her community neighborhood at Magnolia Place for their generosity over the years.

Jean will be greatly missed. She was a loving grandmother to all of her grandkids. She was very independent and had a hard time asking other for help. Lastly, she had a fun-loving personality and liked to laugh and joke around. There was never a dull moment around her.

Memorial donations may be made in Jean's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project. She faithfully donated to these charities for many years.
