Obituary For Duane Keith Tuttle

Duane Keith Tuttle, 86, of Arden passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. Born in Gouldsboro, Maine, he was a son of the late Royden and Ruby Tuttle.

Duane was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, where he served as an electronic and radar technician on a destroyer. He was a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Laws and Juris Doctor. After finishing law school, Duane was a first public defender in the state of Florida and had his own law practice for 20 years. He was employed as Consul by the Federal Government in different branches for a time, serving in the Department of Agriculture, Department of HUD and FEMA.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Notar Tuttle; daughters, Laura Tuttle Williams (Darren Williams), Linda Tuttle and Reverend Annette Notar Flynn (Reverend Mark Flynn); four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and his sister, Donna Williams.

A celebration of life will be held 2pm Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Lutheran Church of the Nativity, Arden, NC. Inurnment of his cremated remains will be prior at 2pm on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain with Military Honors.
