Flora Annette Bishop, born on March 30, 1934, in Chicago, IL where she also was raised and met her husband, John. She passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024 in Asheville, NC. She was 89 years old.

Flora lived the majority of her adult life in Jupiter-Tequesta, FL. She dedicated many years of her life to serving as a Librarian at Hobe Sound Elementary School. Her commitment to education and love for books touched the lives of countless students throughout her career. She enjoyed being involved with kids and was a girl scout leader for many years as well as other volunteer work in her community. She and her husband were long-time members of St. Jude Catholic Church in Jupiter, FL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul Bogush and Clara Gamberale Bartucci, and her beloved husband, John Craig Bishop as well as one grandson. Flora is survived by her son, John C. Bishop, Jr., and her daughters, Wendy Taylor and Karyn Knecht as well as four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Flora will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished by her family and friends. Her memorial mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church in Tequesta, FL on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 10:00am. An inurnment will take place immediately following the service at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.
