George Lewis Hensley of Weaverville went to meet his Savior Jesus Christ on November 18, 2024. He was born on June 28, 1963 to the late John B. Hensley and Mary L. Hatfield.

Lewis loved his family deeply. If he wasn’t entertaining others with his homemade barbeque or off camping with loved ones, you’d find him cheering on his favorite sports teams: the Kansas City Chiefs and the Asheville Tourists. He loved his grandson Jeremy dearly, and that’s what kept him going. He was dearly loved by those who knew him and will be greatly missed.

Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Susan Hensley; his daughters, Kerra Y. Bray (Charlie) and Amber Hensley; his grandson, Jeremy Hensley; his brothers, Chuck Hensley, Ray Hensley, and Jim Hensley; his sister, Ann Nelon; many nieces and nephews, and lots of family and friends.

A celebration of Lewis’ life will be held on December, 5,2024 at 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at the Chapel of Mountain View Cremation & Funeral Care.
