Obituary For James "Jim" Richard Wermeister
James "Jim" Richard Wermeister, 79, of Hendersonville passed away on May 10, 2022 at Life Care Center of Hendersonville. Born in Louisville, KY on September 19, 1942, he was a son of the late Joseph Robert and Mary Frances Leatherman Wermeister.
Jim graduated from the University of Louisville with degrees in business management and law. He worked for International Harvester Company, Ford Motor Company, G.E., Newport News
Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Company, and retired from Norfolk Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Company (Norshipco) in 1994 as Director of Human Resources.
Jim worked with the Boys & Girls Club and Optimist International in Chesapeake, VA. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Hendersonville. In his spare time, Jim greatly enjoyed traveling, classical music, NASCAR, and ballroom dancing. He took great pride in volunteering as a driver with Meals on Wheels and serving on the board of Four Seasons Dance Club and the St. James School for Little Folks.
Surviving him is his loving wife, Donalee Dyer Wermeister, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, June 2, at St James Episcopal Church, Hendersonville, NC.

Dear Donalee, I was so sorry to read in the newspaper of Jim's passing. Though I did not know him well, I know he must have been a wonderful person just like you. It has been a while since our paths have crossed but please know my thoughts are with you. With Sincere Sympathy, Connie Backlund
