Obituary For Joan Louise Creasman

Joan Louise Creasman, affectionately known as Joanie, passed away on January 31, 2024, at the age of 69. She was born on July 30, 1954, in Asheville, North Carolina, and left this world after a prolonged illness in Morganton, North Carolina.

Throughout her life, Joanie dedicated herself to various occupations. She worked diligently in assembly at Dia-Compe USA and also contributed her skills in food service at Christ School. Joanie's kindness and care-free spirit were evident in all she did, leaving a lasting impression on those she encountered.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Joanie had a deep passion for the arts. She found solace and joy in expressing herself through various creative outlets such as painting, drawing, coloring, and crafts. Together with her roommate Patsy, Joanie delighted in the art of jewelry making, creating beautiful pieces that reflected their shared love and friendship.

Joanie is preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Wilkie and Bertha L. Fore Wilkie, as well as her brother, Johnny Wilkie. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her surviving family and friends. Among them are her son, Tommy Praytor(Carissa) of Horse Shoe, North Carolina, and her grandchildren, Marshall and Noah. Joanie is also survived by her sister, Jaime Huntley of Asheville, North Carolina, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and her special friend, often referred to as her "sister," Patsy Conley.

The funeral services for Joanie will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Autumn Care-Drexel in Morganton, North Carolina. Joanie's time spent there was filled with love and support from the staff, whom she considered her chosen family. A special thank you goes out to the dedicated team at Autumn Care-Drexel for their compassion and care.

Joan Louise Creasman, or Joanie, will forever be remembered for her creative spirit, and the love she shared with those around her. May she rest in peace, knowing that her presence in our lives will be deeply missed.
