Karen Sue Gardner, born on September 13, 1950, in Dayton, Ohio, peacefully passed away on April 2, 2024, in Hendersonville, North Carolina, at the age of 73 after battling an extended illness.

Karen dedicated her life to being a devoted homemaker, finding joy in caring for her family and creating a warm and loving home. Her interests in travel and English history enriched her life and brought her closer to the world around her.

An attendee of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville, Karen found solace and community in her religious beliefs and her study of the Letters of Paul.

Born and raised in Ohio, Karen met her beloved husband, Steve A. Gardner, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Together, they journeyed through life, moving to Tennessee, Rhode Island, Florida, and Virginia due to Steve's military service before retiring in North Carolina.

Karen will be deeply missed by her husband Steve; her daughter Carissa L. Hoadley (James); her son Eric T. Gardner (Christine), both residing in Hendersonville; her sisters Sheryl Cox of Hendersonville and Barbara Reeder; her sister-in-law Sharon Jahr of Ohio; and her brothers-in-law Gary Gardner (Debbie) and John Gardner (Debbie), both of Ohio.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents, George and Wilma Friend Reeder. Karen's love and dedication to her family and faith leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who knew her.
