I knew Lane when he was a volunteer member of Number 7 Arts Gallery in Brevard. He was always warm and caring as a person, and carried on the memory and the artwork of his partner, Tom Atkins, in the gallery. He will be missed by all those who knew him at the gallery.

I met Lane in the 1960's when I trained him for a job in DC at the Washington Gas Co. He and Tom became an integral part of our DC group of friends and we remained close friends for 55+ years. We had many fun and crazy times, and I will miss his check in calls. Condolences to the family and to his beloved Jinx.
