Obituary For Larry Odell Cagle

Larry Odell Cagle, 81, of Brevard, NC. Went
home to be with the Lord on October 29,
2024. He was surrounded by family and loved
ones.

He is preceded in death by his father,
Ernest Cagle, mother, Hazel Cooper Cagle,
sister, Louise Cagle, and brother, Harold
Cagle. He is survived by wife of 55 years,
Anita McCrary Cagle, sons Dale and Jason
Cagle daughter, Allison Cagle McCosh,
sisters Peggy Galloway and Lou Gravely, his 6
grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

He had four loves in his life, Fishing, Hotrods,
The United States Marine Corps, and most of
all Family. He served in the USMC from
1966-1969 and was aboard the first super
carrier USS Forrestal, and a survivor of its
tragic explosion in July 1967. He received a
Letter of commendation for meritorious
performance of duty from Commander JK
Beling.

However, of all the titles he has held in his
lifetime, he was most proud of being “Pappy”
to all the grandchildren. You could always
find him with a smiling baby in his arms.
From serving his country, to spending days
on the lake, or building classic cars, this man
lived life to the fullest.

He will be loved and
missed by many, but his legacy carries on in
the memories of every one he met. To know
him was to love him.

The memorial will be held on Sunday, Nov.
10th, 2pm at the VFW Post 4309 in Brevard NC.
