Obituary For Marilyn Ruth Pierron
Marilyn Ruth Pierron, just 2 weeks shy of 92 years old, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on 29 March 2022 at home in Pisgah Forest where she and her husband Ken resided with family. My mother was born in Milwaukee, WI on 14 April 1930 to William and Anna Erck. She was the middle child of 3 and grew up loving art, ice skating and mastering her love for cheese. (She is probably enjoying a Limburger cheese sandwich in heaven). Although only 1 year behind my father in high school, they didn’t truly meet until after he served in the Navy at a local dance. One look at this beautiful young woman and he knew that she was the one for him. Ken and Lynn Pierron were married 3 months later in Milwaukee. They had 3 children, Victor, Lauren and Grant. My mother poured herself into her children with such love and attention. She was the consummate mother organizing clubs, baking wonderful chocolate chip cookies and always ready to play cards or a board game. My house was the place to be for all of our friends because Mom made it so warm and inviting. I remember how she so loved celebrating the Holidays, especially Christmas when many of our ornaments were made by hand and Mom filled the house with the scents of baked treats. After my father’s retirement from being a designer and home builder, they packed their bags and moved to a warmer climate in Nokomis, Florida where they lived part and full time for 36 years. She pursued her interest in art, becoming quite proficient in the Norwegian painting technique called Rosemaling, enjoyed a competitive game of tennis and loved strolling down the sandy beaches with my father. They traveled extensively in the United States and also in Europe and Asia, usually to see their children. During this time, she also grew in her faith in Jesus Christ enjoying church and leading Bible studies. She was a prayer warrior often interceding for her children and others. It was so comforting for me knowing that my mother was actively offering my family and I up in prayer. My parents came to live with my family in Pisgah Forest just 7 months ago. What a precious time to be able to spend those last Autumn months in the presence of a mother that loved and gave so much of herself to her family. She is survived by her husband Ken after 65 years of being a loving wife, her 3 children and 4 grandchildren Ian, Nathan, Wesley and Landon Pierron.
