Obituary For Matthew Timothy Quinn

Matthew Timothy Quinn, 61, a lifelong member of the Henderson County community, passed away on March 25, 2024. He was born November 11, 1962. Matthew was a commercial welder for over 20 years, and also pursued CNA work, assisting patients in their homes. His commitment to service extended beyond his professions, as he also volunteered as a fireman and EMT for over 30 years.

In his free time, Matthew enjoyed pursuing his interests in fly fishing, cooking, and trying new recipes. He was also a talented artist and had a knack for fixing almost anything around the house or car. Matthew was a father to two daughters, and a brother, cousin, uncle, and friend to many. However, his greatest pride was his grandson, Max, whom he adored.

Throughout his life, Matthew was an active member of the community, attending Beulah Baptist Church and serving as a lifetime member and former president of the Etowah Horse Shoe Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department. He was also involved with the American Legion and had graduated from West Henderson High School, later serving in the Army National Guard.

Matthew is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Alexander Quinn and Mary Ellen Ritter Quinn, his brother Mark Alexander Quinn, and his daughter Christina Michelle Quinn Edney.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy Renee Quinn of Charlotte, NC, son-in-law Christopher Edney of Hendersonville, grandson Maxwell Robert Edney, sister Angela LaFalce of Hendersonville, brother Michael Quinn of Hendersonville, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends.

Services honoring Matthew's life will be held at 1pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Beulah Baptist Church with the Reverend Dewey Barnwell officiating. A gathering of friends and family will follow the service at the Etowah Horse Shoe VFRD, 15 Morgan Rd. Hendersonville.

Flowers are appreciated and memorials in his name may be made to Beulah Baptist Church and/or the Etowah Horse-Shoe Fire Department.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
