Sandy Lee Bailey Jr., 49 of Arden passed away on Thursday, April 13th, 2023 at home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on November 6th, 1973 in Fort Knox, KY. He attended Reeths Puffer High School and graduated in 1992. He also attended Augsburg American High School in Germany. Over the years prior to moving to North Carolina he resided in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama Tennessee, and Michigan. Sandy had a life of many adventures and was blessed to have experienced life with many wonderful experiences, and opportunities! He had a successful career as a maintenance director for the multifamily industry.

Sandy loved listening to music, and he could tell you the artist and song title by just listening to a few lyrics. He enjoyed all music genres. He even named his pups after rappers. He could take a song and spin it to his own beat and his new version would flow and be entertaining. His ability to instantly think up funny and spontaneous things to say in the moment was comical and could easily make you laugh.

He was a sports fan in general but especially fond of hockey. The Nashville Predators became his team as he lived in Nashville for twelve years and was a season ticket holder. He enjoyed attending events, as well as sports and concert venues. Football and baseball were extra special as he was able to bond with his dad.

Every Disney trip was magical and was filled with family fun memorable moments. His fishing trips at Folly Beach provided him with excitement and good times. Sandy and the kids had many stories to tell about the adventures of seeking autographs and all the photographs with celebrities, as they collected countless amounts over the years.

Always behind the camera capturing videos and pictures of the family. He loved taking spontaneous vacation and road trips. Car rides and lotto ticket scratching nights, and so many more shared little moments that will never be forgotten.

He was the biggest fan and supporter of the kids hobbies and interests. He would dedicate time watching the kiddos at the skateparks, hockey rink, soccer field and he even put a little coaching in. He felt privileged that he could balance life and be present.

He enjoyed going to the movie theater often which was not had without popcorn and snacks. It was a great way for relaxation. With so many great options for food, he liked dining out. A shopaholic and collector, he loved to shop especially for the kids. He loved making them smile and having moments of joy with them and that made him happy too.

A loving dad, and husband Sandy was a family man with a beautiful soul. He cherished hugs and having his hand held; even up until his last breath. He valued the simple kind of love.

Sandy could make you laugh, tell the most amazing stories, and create the best memories. A one-of-a-kind man and a loyal friend. He was “The Best”.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his loving wife that shared 27 years, Jamie Bailey; his four beautiful children, Camre Hope, Avrence Bailey, Acalia Bailey and Acaysia Bailey; his mother, Robin Brunais Davis and her husband Denny; his father Sandy Bailey and his late wife Carole; Jamie’s parents Mike and Ellen Stewart, and Shelley VandenBosch; his sisters, Lori Ellmer, Brandy and Mike McCully and Melissa and Travis Page.

If you knew Sandy, then he cared for and loved you all. He was a loving father and husband, a wonderful friend, a caring brother, a loved son, and a cool uncle to many. He would say something funny or embarrassing just to bring a smile to everyone’s faces and make them laugh. Sandy was a lighthearted, comical, entertaining, and good-spirited person.

It saddens us to know we’ll never experience his presence again on Earth, but we are grateful for all the memories we do have of him. We will forever live in the pain of his absence as we cherish every moment and memory that he shared with us!

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June, 24th 2023 at pavilion #3 from 4PM-7PM at Kruse Park located at (Lake Michigan Beach) North Muskegon, Michigan.
