Obituary For Thomas John Wilson

Thomas John Wilson, 88, of Flat Rock, North Carolina, passed away on November 24th, 2024, shortly after 9pm.

He was born on January 21st, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York to Thomas James Wilson and Mary Agnes(Martin) Wilson. At the age of 5 the family moved to Hempstead, New York where Thomas grew up and graduated from Hempstead High School in 1954. In 1955 he entered the US Army, serving 2 years, mainly in southern Germany with the 11th Airborne. In 1957, at an LDS church dance, he met the love of his life, Patricia Charlotte Koch with whom he celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary shortly before his death. From 1961 to 1983 he served in the Nassau County Police Department.

He was an outgoing, sociable man who was devoted to his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Agnes Frances McGovern Banker, Josephine Elizabeth Boltwood, Frances Elinor Deller, and son Peter Christopher WIlson. He is survived by wife, Pat, children Patricia Tommie Snyder (Kevin), Thomas John Wilson II (Antoinetta), and Brad Lee Wilson (Cao); grandchildren Lindsey Paige Griffiths (Daniel), Brandon Donovan Snyder (Debora), Ashley Ann Wilson, Thomas Michael Wilson, and Winston Maxwell Wilson; great grandchildren Brian Joseph Griffiths, Kristen Leigh Griffiths, Natalie Marie Griffiths, Matthew David Griffiths, Zane Estevao Snyder, and Xena Serinity Snyder; and siblings John Paul Wilson (Beth) and Virginia Agnes Gibson (Jack). “Uncle Tom” to nieces and nephews from the McGovern, Banker, Boltwood, Deller, Gibson, Matthews, Bingman, and Koch families.

    Today is the day that you're getting cremated, we are beyond upset and hurt that he had to go this way. Just know that's not what we wanted. We wanted you to have what you were entitled to and earned being a veteran and a great Nassau County 👮 officer. rest in eternal peace we love and miss you dearly.🙏😢😢❤️
