Obituary For William Charles Cunningham
William Charles Cunningham, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at the age of 86.
William was born on Wednesday, February 24, 1937, in Endicott, NY to the late James Mason Cunningham and Anna Maria Cunningham. William is also preceded in death by his three brothers, James Cunningham, Joseph Cunningham, and John Cunningham.
William served in the United States Army. William received a Bachelor of Accounting degree from The State University of New York at Binghamton. He worked and retired from IBM. William was also a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hendersonville, NC.
Left to cherish William’s memory are his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Davis Cunningham; daughters, Lisa McAllister (John) of Terrell, NC, Lydia Petchel (Matthew) of Charlotte, NC, and Jonatha Simmons (Tommy) of Fishers, IN; son, William Cunningham (Jeannette) of Spring, TX; and grandchildren, Jona McAllister, Mason Petchel, Eli Petchel, Elizabeth Simmons, Madeline Simmons, Samantha Petchel, and Charlie Cunningham.
A memorial celebration will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday, June 16th at 10:00 in the morning, with the inurnment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in William’s memory to the Elizabeth House of Four Seasons Hospice. Donations may also be made by clicking on the green link provided.
